Cannot view attachments

Hello,

A user forwarded me an e-mail asking if I can view the attachments that have
been sent to her. In my Outlook (2003) I can see an attachment icon but when
I open the e-mail I could not see them.

If I right clicked on the e-mail and selected view attachments I can view
them. Also If I changed the e-mail format to plain text they appeared.

Could anyone shed light as to why this behaviour occurs? Why can I not see
the attachments in HTML?
