Cannot use send email through Word 2007

When ever I try and send a document from word 2007 throught the send to
command the below is displayed:

mapi32.dll is an invalid Extended MAPI library

I have Outlook as my default mail program. I am running on a network with
an exchange server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
