Cannot upload graphical hyperlink

I cannot upload my graphical hyperlink buttons to my webpage. Everything
looks perfect in FP, but when I upload, the links end up as boxes with red
x's in them. The buttons themselves are overlayed with text, but don't seem
to save.

how are you "uploading" them?
in FrontPage with the web in question open try: file/ publish web (or site
in FrontPage 2003).
