In attempting to turn on Windows Automatic Update, I
right click "My Computer", Click Properties, then click
on the Automatic Update Tab. There's a line on this tab
that tells me that "The Windows Update Service is
Unavailable", and I cannot do anything because all the
options are "grayed out". Can anyone help me. Thanks.

Try the following:

Go to Start > Run and type: SERVICES.MSC , and hit enter.
Scroll down to "Automatic Updates", right-click on this service
and select Properties > Startup type > Automatic,
then click Apply. If you see an option to restart the service,
then restart the service.

Thanks----but I went to the Microsoft page and "Let you
do it"; however, you also turned on the Microsoft
Internet connection Firewall. Please tell me how to turn
off the firewall. Thanks.
