I'm running outlook 2000 and I keep getting the following
message which I cannot make stop. "Cannot turn off the
reminder. You may be reminded again. There is not enough
memory available to perform the operation." Thanks

Try this -

Close Outlook

Hit Ctrl+Alt+Del and check Task Manager to ensure there are no instances of
Outlook.exe nor MAPISP32.EXE running on the Processes tab.

Select Start | Run

Enter outlook.exe /CleanReminders
(note the space between "outlook.exe" and "/CleanReminders")

Select OK

Is it any better now?
