Cannot synchronize offline files

When I attempt to synchronize offline files and folders, I get the following message:

Unable to make "filename" available on "network home directory file". Access is denied.

This happens both in Windows XP and XP 64 bit. Have not been able to find a fix on the internet. Can anyone hlep?
