I successfully downloaded and used a trial version of Office 2007 about 6
weeks ago, decided that's what I wanted; purchased MS Office Enterprise 2007;
uninstalled the trial version; loaded the new version; activated , etc.,
etc., etc,

Word, Excel, & Powerpoint work fine, but, whenever I open Outlook 2007,
after about 30-60 seconds I get a dialog box indicating:
Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered an error and must close.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

How do I eliminate this error with no details?

is there anything in the event viewer? does it open if you make a new
profile?
