I had an earlier thread. I installed XAMPPLite on the desktop with the
control panel. There is no uninstall. You are supposed to delete it to
uninstall it. I should have installed it on the c drive. But now I can't
delete the xampplite folder. I stopped all processes with the xampp control
panel itself, mysql and apache. It runs the exec in the dos window. I got
an error message that said "can't stop httpd.pid process". I think this
running process is one reason why I can't delete the folder Also, I keep
changing the xampplite folder permissions and they don't stick. It is read
only. I keep unclicking it, check apply to al subfolders then I click okay.
I try to delete the folder and I can't. I go back to the permissions and it
is sitll read only.

I tried to see if there was an xampplite program in the list in the
uninstall programs control panel. There was no xampplite or apache or sql
to uninstall. How can I get rid of this folder that is stuck on mydesktop?
thanks,

Hi Janice,

Did you try going into Windows Safe Mode and remove the folders?

You could see if the process is found using Autoruns:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb963902.aspx
If so, uncheck the process or right click and delete it (I would uncheck
it first then reboot, if it works then delete it)

If it's not located using Autoruns, and you are comfortable editing the
registry, you could search out and remove all instances of the the exact
filename process. Make sure you have a good backup prior to editing the
registry.
