cannot start pc win2000 prof

      30th Oct 2004
i deleted msm, i cannot use pc my. when i on the pc, the counter will stop
half way which is on the white screen with the 2k logo. however, i can use
the save mode to do an anti virus scan (no virus). the pc is connected with
only the mouse/keyboard and monitor. pls help-tks

As always you'll want to check Event Viewer and Device Manager for errors
and or non-starting devices and also include the details of exactly what was
deleted.

many thanks. can you please explain how to get to Event Viewer and an
example how to use the info to solve it. Look forward for your response-tks

many tks and found Event Viewer(EV)
under EV its application branch has the following
Xerror(red circle) 10/21/04 ...time.....Microsoft Window Media Player ....
Xerror MsiInstaller........ 1000
Warning(yellow) ...............................MsiInstaller ....... 1001

and there are many similar errors

under EV its System branch has the foll
Xerror (red circle) ...11/9/04 .............DCOM ................10003
and there are many such errors

Now, what shall I do next?. Really need your help pls, tks

When you view the logged events in Event Viewer in the upper right corner,
third button down is a copy to clipboard, then you can paste in the body of
a reply message.

Please do so for each of the different system events since last pc restart
so we can see all of the event detail.

Don't worry about the application log only system log. These three fields;
Source, Event ID, Description

on application -ok, i spse i can just delete the log
on the system, how do we go about solving the problem for example the one i
my posting. alternatively, you can quote one and show how you resolve the
