It's been a while since I used MM2, and today I get a "Unspecified
Error" message when I tried to start it on 2 machines - not very helpful
when comes to troubleshooting.

I have already tried downloading the setup file and reinstall MM2 again,
but it didn't help.

Any ideas what is wrong? Thank you.

Windows XP SP1 (all patches current)
512MB RAM

See the Problem Solving section of www.papajohn.org

I can't give you any pointers so far. Can I assume that you used MM2
successfully on these computers sometime ago?

Yes, it used to work on both, but I just finished reinstalling Windows
XP on one of them (because of a new drive), and I tried to load it for
the first time on this computer and that's when I noticed the problem.

By the way, I can't read your website beyond the front page - your menu
in the left pane doesn't load. The error reads:

Line: 279
Char: 46
Error: Expected ')'
Code: 0
URL: http://pws.chartermi.net/~papajohn/MM2.html

Line: 400
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: http://pws.chartermi.net/~papajohn/MM2.html

A few people have run into that problem with the menu, but it seemed to just
clear up for them by pressing the refresh button. But, until it comes in for
you, here's a link right to the main problem solving checklist

I can tell you what NOT to do: Don't move the version 1
files into active play and then try to reinstall MM2.
That was something I regret. I couldn't get MM2 back
after that other than by reincarnation.

Thanks, but unfortunately, the Problem solving section was not much
help.

Probably will go through the DLL list and check file versions to see if
something I've missed.... but it's a long list
