I get this error when I try to start Internet Explorer. So to even get to
this website to ask the question I'm having to go through Windows Explorer.

IEXPLORE.EXE - Application Error

The instruction at "0x77f83905" referenced memory at "0x0000000". The memory
could not be "written".

Click on OK to terminate the program
Click on CANCEL to debug the program

OK CANCEL

This occurs everytime I try to start IE and is getting extremely bothersome
for someone who is on the net as much as I used to be. I tried using my
already installed Norton Antivirus 2003 PE and my Lavasoft Ad-Aware SE
Professional and removed 11 objects of spyware and 3 virus objects (truly a
minimal amount for me) to no avail. Things about my system... P4 2.53
behind reuter firewall running XP Home with additional applications Microsoft
Visual Studio, PcAnywhere, TweakUI, and the 50 meg Java Applet software. Any
help would be extremely appreciated.

Hi,
This is probably being caused by another program- possibly malware. Throw
some more removal tools at it. Start with BHODemon 2.0:
http://www.definitivesolutions.com/bhodemon.htm It's easy and safe.

Then download and run CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot (in that order.)
See: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm
Also note the security tips and other important information on that page.

Additional information at:

If unsuccessful with those programs, you may have to post a HijackThis log
to one of the forums listed below. You will receive good help at any of
these forums. You might look for a forum that doesn't have too many
unanswered posts. You should also look for the proper forum for HijackThis
logs and a message along the lines of "Important- Read This First."

Or...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, toolbars or
other add-ons, security, anti-virus, etc. Look at any program that
interacts, in any way, with Internet Explorer. You may have to reinstall, or
not reinstall, a program.

This (lengthy) troubleshooting process may help:

Internet Explorer: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=276393

Hope this helps,
Don
