Cannot Set Up Fax Utility when using Broadband

Can anyone help me overcome a fax configuration wizard
problem. When the wizard asks me to select a device for
sending or receiving it only gives me my old modem as an
option and I can't set it for my broadband modem. If I
disable the old modem the wizard advises there is no
modem installed. Consequently I can't send. Is there a
way to set up the Windows XP fax utility so it will work
with my broadband modem?

That is the way it is supposed to work. You can only send a fax
using an analog modem over a regular voice telephone line. Since
your modem is still in your computer, do not disable it. If you get
cable TV, do you throw away your telephone?

Well of course you can't! Had you spent the time it took you to compose this
post searching the group you'd have found your answer. Faxing requires phone
lines. Broadband doesn't use phone lines - or a modem for that matter.
