Hi everybody,

According to the help (and online at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ou...1821033.aspx#3), you should
be able to choose a Word Theme as default when creating a new message.

However I just cannot find that option anywhere - so everytime I create a
new e-mail message I have to go to the 'Options' tab, then select 'Themes'
and choose the them I want.

I just wondered if anybody else had noticed this or whether I am missing
something really obvious.

I have Word 2007 installed and my e-mail format set to HTML.

Any ideas gratefully recieved.

John

Nope, can't find the "Set as Default Theme" anywhere either. It's not there
in Word either. I guess somebody got a bit optimistic when creating the
documentation ;-)

Found it! The 'Set as default' option is on a completely different tab!

So if anybody is interested, the steps to set a different default Word theme
in Outlook 2007 theme are:

1) start a new message and then click in the message body
2) go to the 'options' tab
3) press the 'Themes' button and choose the theme you want as your default
4) go to the 'Format text' tab
5) press the 'Change Styles' button and select 'Set as default'.

Note that 'set as default' is greyed out unless you have clicked in the
message body.

Hardly intuitive, but at least there is a way to do it. It looks like the
same goes for Word (setting the default in one application does not affect
the other).

Haha, nice find! Anything but intuitive indeed. Funny that on one side they
make a clear distinction between Themes and Styles and on the other side
they combine the settings like they are the same thing. I had already send
in a documentation update request and I guess that still applies ;-)
