I have checked all the previous posts I could find regarding how to send
messages from the outbox. I am using a Gmail Account and even the test
Account Settings won't work. It says:

Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): The specified server was found, but
there was no response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL
information is correct. To access these settings close this dialog, then
click More Settings and click on the Advanced tab.
Send test e-mail message: The specified server was found, but there was no
response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL information is
correct. To access these settings close this dialog, then click More Settings
and click on the Advanced tab.

When I try to click on send from my message in the outbox, it says:

Task 'my email address- Sending' reported error (0x80004210B) : 'The
operation timed out waiting for a response from the sending (SMTP) server. If
you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or
Internet service provider (ISP).'

I am able to receive messages in my inbox, but I just cannot send any
messages from my outbox. I just started using Outlook 2 days ago and have
never been able to send messages. I have Microsoft Windows XP, Home Edition,
Version 2002, Service Pack 2, & have Outlook 2002.

Have you tried uninstalling Outlook and installing it again

I tried it right now and it did not change a thing.. it still doesn't work..
anything else I can do? I really like the way Outlook is if only it would
work!

yes I did this. And I was able to receive my messages for a day or two but
now I cannot send OR receive anything!

What did you change/install/uninstall to cause it to stop working after the
first day or two?

Not sure, I know that when I realized that I couldn't send any messages, I
took the mailman's advice and uninstalled it, Then I re-installed it but my
information, email address, folders, everything was still on Outlook. After
I re-installed it, I have been unable to send OR receive. I checked my
settings and everything seems the same.
