I have a client(winXP sp1) which joined to a domain/AD
(win2k server sp3), when I try to give access rights
of client files to domain users, there is no domain can
be chosen at the "Locations" dialog box except the PC
itself.
But when I change to join to another domain(WinNT
server), domain name is showed properly at "Locations"
dialog box, and I can select domain users.

obviously, there's a problem between win2k and winXP.
do I need to apply any patches or miss something ?

I would appreciate any help in this matter.

Could be a dns issue. Double check that the only dns servers listed in tcp/ip
properties of the XP machine are domain controllers running dns, and you can use
nslookup to verify configured domain controller and that it can resolve names. I
would also run netdiag on the XP machine looking for any failed tests that may
provide a clue. --- Steve

Thank you, Steve. It works ! After I changed the
dns(DC)from Alternate DNS server to Preferred DNS server.
