Hi,

I've a problem which is driving me nuts!!

With my laptop I can connect to Internet (via DSL router) and send/receive
emails with OE w/o problems. Can ping any box on my network and outside of
it (web). However, cannot see any PCs in my networking under my workgroup.
The IP address, the workgroup name and the laptop name are unique. The WiFi
and LAN connections are configured correctly and cannot see where the
problem could lie.

Can someone help me please?

TIA

Ana

XPpro networked with other XPpro boxes and w2k servers.

When you say the workgroup name is unique, do you mean that each machine has
a different workgroup name?

Have you run the "Set up a Home or Small Office Network" wizard on each
machine?

No, all machines have the same workgroup name and I ran the wizard only on
my laptop since the rest of the machines are working fine.

If the server pc user has a blank password this problem will appear. Of
course the system wont report this when you try to add a network place
because it assumes everyone knows about this clever security implementation.

This could be problem for your case.
