I am having difficulties. I have 1 XP pro and 1 Vista Home prem machine. I
have a workgroup name of AYERSPAN on both machines. I have filesharing setup
on both. From my XP box I can see the Vista box but when I double click I
get a message "\\LINDA-PC is not accessible. You might not have permissions
to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of the server to
find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found".
Then I am on the vista machine and get the same thing or the xp box does not
even show up now. When I first got ht vista box it all worked, now I am so
frustrated. any help would be great. Thanks

Alan

Hi
Successful Sharing involves some general consideration in Network settings,
http://www.ezlan.net/sharing.html
As well as specific adjustment of each computer according to what it is
allowed to be shared.
Vista File and Printer Sharing-

Have you DILIGENTLY ferreted out any "firewall" software that might be
lurking on these computers?
There is the native Windows variety.
Also, computers that are bundled with software might have McAfee, Norton,
etc.
