Cannot see other computer under "My Network Places" using a router network

I am using cable internet with a router sharing the internet connection with
2 win2K and 3 XP machines.

All of the machines have internet access, but none of them can see each
other under "My Network Places"

Under Win 2K, when I click on "Workgroup", it will output a msgbox saying
"Network path not found"
Under XP, when I click on "Workgroupo", it will show itself only but not
other machine.

Anyone can help me to solve this problem?

Try doing a search for computers from My Network Places.
Search for the exact computer names. See if they are
even there.

First make sure that Netbios over TCP/IP is set to enabled in the network adapter, TCP/IP properties, Advanced and then the WINS tab.

You mentioned that there is a router, are all these systems on the same subnet, if they are not then you will need a WINS server or LMHOSTS file to browse
between the subnets. I am including links to some KB articles on browsing that will help with this.

Try going to "Services" and start the "Computer Browser" service
and set it to automatic so it starts when your computer does...it
worked for me
