Ok. I have read many many posts about this, but cannot get it to work for me.
My local "client" PC is Windows XP Pro with a Canon i860 printer connected
on LPT1.
My work "remote" PC is also Windows XP Pro with no printer directly
connected to it. There is another PC at work that has a printer connected to
it via USB that the work "remote" PC is connected to via the local network.
I can remote into the work pc fine, but I cannot see the Canon i860 in the
remote desktop session.
A few weeks ago this worked after I ran the registry fix adding
FilterQueueType on my client PC (although I don't know why since the printer
is connected via LPT1).
So what has changed?
1. There used to be a printer connected directly to the remote PC at work
that has since been removed and connected to a different work PC.
2. I have installed EFax Messenger on the remote PC.
3. I have installed Windows Defender on the remote and client PC.
I am at a loss. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am going to
attempt to remove that software from the remote PC to see if that helps.
