Cannot search in Public or Shared Calendars properly, Outlook 2003

I've noticed that users can't search a shared calendar or a public
calendar for items attached to days earlier than the current date. For
some reason, it only searches for appointments from the "today"
forward. Anybody know a fix? I've been all over the web trying to
figure this one out.
