When trying to download files using IE (save-target-as) when browsing
to the location I chose to save, the file is missing (I assume not
dld). Additionally, despite the "close this dialog box..." being
unchecked, the dialog box still closes after the file (apparently)
downloads? Any ideas? It appears to be a profile issue as they can log
on to another machine and downloads work fine.

Clear out the Temporary Internet Files folder -
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/delcache.htm
Downloads first go there, and then are copied to the destination folder. It
may be full or corrupted. If no joy, totally delete the TIF folder in the
problem account from another account w/ admin. privlidges, reboot and it
will be recreated as empty.
