Cannot retain Recycle Bin Settings

I have multiple hard drives (both internal and external). I set Recycle Bin
to different settings for each drive (specifically, turn OFF Recycle Bin on
the two external drives).

However, every time I reboot, my settings are lost. Windows re-instates the
default 10% on all drive. This has happened for some time, but I just
reformatted and reloaded Windows XP Pro -- and it STILL does it, even with a
'clean image'.

How to retain the customized settings?

See if save settings on exit helps - line 54 (right hand side):

Thanx,

I have KK bookmarked and have used it often, but now I'm leary. There are
some 'tweaks' that are not meant for Windows XP -- which is why I wound up
reformatting my HDD. Trouble is, they are not marked. The site leads one to
assume that all the vbs and reg files are meant for XP. All I can tell you is
I screwed up my registry so bad that System Restore wouldn't resolve, nor by
restoring a System State backup file.

I remember trying the line 54 (windows not remembering settings) and this
one didn't cause problems. Windows started remembering my settings -- and
then it stopped.

I'm suspecting that my Registry cleaner (Max Registry Cleaner) is a bit
overzealous. but I don't have a clue which entries to ignore and what to
accept.

BTW,
You wouldn't be the "Kelly" of "Kelly's Korner" would you?

. . . sigh!

It's not a good idea to use a registry cleaner. These can and often times
do cause problems to surface at a later time.

It's hard to say what damage it's caused.

I'll second Rock's comment. I strongly recommend *against* the routine
use of registry cleaners. Routine cleaning of the registry isn't
needed and is dangerous. Leave the registry alone and don't use any
registry cleaner.

The risk of a serious problem caused by a registry cleaner erroneously
removing an entry you need is far greater than any potential benefit
it may have.

Hi There,

All of the edits/scripts that are provided by myself and others were written
specifically for XP.
That being said, which did you have problems with?

Oh and yes, I am that Kelly! )
