I went to the outlook express store folder and selected those files with
extension .dbx and backed them up. I did not back up all files nor did I do
the backup by exporting. Now, I have problems restoring those emails when I
did the process of importing, getting the following message:

No messages can be found in this folder or there another application is
running that has the required files open. Pls select another folder ortry
closing application that may have files open.

i donn't know whether your files are corrupt,if it is really that.You may try Advanced Outlook Express Repair at http://www.datanumen.com/aoer/ that may help you fix it.
