Ever since I installed beta 1 on my home computer I have
not been able to reply to e-mails on my work e-mail
account(outlook express). I am able to login and view my
e-mail but I cannot reply to them or forward them.I also
cannot open attachments. I uninstalled beta 1 and still
cannot acess any thing.I think it may have changed a
setting in Internet Explorer (Active X ???)
can anyone help ? thanx in advance

Do you get an error message when you try to reply?

trying to reply to. I had the same problem about a year
ago when I installed a antivirus / firewall program on my
computer. I cant remember the name of it, It was
something I found thru the Microsoft site. I uninstalled
it and went back to Mcaffe. It took me a while to get it
working right again I'm not sure but, I thought it was
something to do with the firewall software adjusting the
IE security settings. Also another thing that is
happening which is the same as before, alot of the
thumbnail boxes on websites that you can click on to go
to another page are inactive,(they are now small white
boxes with a red X in them) Thanks for replying

If you are in the United States or Canada, call 1-866-
pcsafety

This is a free support line from Microsoft for issues of
virus removal or
security patch problems. They should be able to help you
directly, one on
one--with this problem.

If you are elsewhere in the world, call your local
Microsoft office, or a
number for paid support for your area, but ask for the
free help for virus
or security patch issues. The same free help is
available, but the phone
call may not be toll-free.

And most importantly, when your problem is resolved, let
everyone know!!! Many people put a lot of time and effort
into helping you. Let them know what suggestions worked.

Maybe a third-party anti-spyware application has filled up your HOSTS file
with many addresses.
Check the contents of:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
by opening it in Notepad.

There should be a single uncommented line of the form:
127.0.0.1 localhost

If there are more, try deleting all the others.
