I can post / reply newsgroup in microsoft news group with my new system (WM
+ vista), just as exactly this one does.

But, I couldn't do so in my university's news group, it only worked fine
with my system installed with XP + OE !!!

Is it possible for some news servers do not accept posting / reply from WM /
vista (*however, i can't read the newsgroup without any problem...)

Go to Tools, Options, Send. In the News Sending Format section, make sure
Plain Text is selected. Then click Plain Text Settings, click the button for
Uuencode (which will unselect Mime), OK.
Let us know if that fixed the problem.

Sorry for my typing mistake, the "can't" should be replaced by "can" in the
following sentence:

>> Is it possible for some news servers do not accept posting / reply from
>> WM / vista (*however, i "can't" read the newsgroup without any
>> problem...)

Can you copy and post the complete error message?

It may be a problem for you to read it as some of them in Chinese but I
think you can guess the meaning from most of them written below!! Anyway ,
here it is:

Windows Mail 無法公佈您的郵件(unable to post your mail...)。 主旨 'Re:
testing on 29-Jan', 帳戶: 'news.cuhk.edu.hk', 伺服器: 'news.cuhk.edu.hk', 通訊協定: NNTP, 伺服器回應: '441 From: address not in Internet syntax', 連接埠:
119, 安全(SSL): 否, 伺服器錯誤: 441, 錯誤碼: 0x800CCCA9

This news server needs registered users to login within campus or by vpn for
off-campus users.

Are you logging onto the news server with the WinXP machine but not with the
Vista machine?

It may be insisting that you have a period in the middle of the part of your
From:
address after the @. Adding .invalid to the end of what you're using now
will
make sure that any spammer who gets the message you posted won't be able
to use it to send someone spam.

It may also be insisting that you avoid capital letters, and use only the
letters
and numbers used in English, in addition to one @, in your From: address.

A few news servers, such as the one for bellsouth.net, insist that you avoid
the MIME and None combination in both the HTML Settings and the Plain
Text Settings part of the News Sending Format, even if you send only in the
Plain Text method for newsgroup postings as you should in the newsgroups
that don't have .binaries. in the name. Also, I haven't seen a newsgroup
server that allowed a check mark before Allow 8-bit characters in headers
in the HTML Settings part, although that may be because I've only checked
instructions written in English.

"From: address not in Internet syntax" seems fairly definitive.
Make sure your From address is in proper format, although it
doesn't have to be your actual email address. I use
(E-Mail Removed)lid which is in proper format although it doesn't
go anywhere. The .invalid TLD is reserved for those wanting to
keep their actual email address private.

Thanks every buddies for your expertise, it works after I have changed the
email in the correct form with @xxx."whatever". Also, i changed back the
sending format to MIME and it's still OK!
Thank you very much.
Just one more question, I use an incorrect email address here (i.e.
Shan@Space) but i don't have such problem at all. What's the difference
here?
