Cannot reply to emails using Outlook 2003

I have been having problems with my e-mail. When I try to reply to e-mails a
pop-up window states "Object reference not set to an instance of an object"
and then "The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the
problem persists, restart outlook."

Before this problem, I would reply to e-mails and when the recipient
received it, the message would be blank.

Please help!
