Cannot remove wrong device seen by XP Pro

I installed a SCSI tape drive in a WinXP Pro pc, but
device manager cannot see it. SCSI tape drive can only be
seen under the 'Add Hardware Wizard|Installed Hardware'
as a USB Sequential Device, and I cannot remove it.

In order for my backup software to work, it requires to
remove any generic tape drive driver put in by xp.

Thanks to anyone who can show me how to force xp to
remove this wrong device.
