Cannot Remove Email Accounts

I have a hotmail account that I added to Outlook 2007 Ultimate some time ago.
At this point I need to remove the accounts. To remove the accounts I took
these steps:

1. From the "Tools" menu I selected "Account Settings"
2. Selected the account I wanted to remove and clicked the "Remove" button.

The account was successfully removed from the "Account Settings" window.
HOWEVER, the next time (an every time since) that I opened Outlook the
hotmail account I removed still showes up in my "Mail Folders". It doesn't
show up in "Account Settings" only in the "Mail Folders"

If I try to remove the account by just right clicking on it and selecting
"Close" I get the error that it is an account and needs to be removed from
the "Account Settings", but of course it doesn't show up there.

Help Please.
Lou

Do you have the Outlook Connector installed? I think it is within the
Connector menu that you're supposed to add or remove accounts. Whether or
not that's true, however, a new mail profile will cure your problem.
