I cannot delete a file in my private folder on my live web. Server error says
it cannot remove file index.htm.cnt (or cannot open file to write to it). It
was an invisible hit counter (and all hit counters stopped working). I
finally removed all hit counters (local & live web), but this one won't
budge. I reposted, used FP Cleaner, and reinstalled FP server extensions.
Nothing works. My web host is GoDaddy and they don't know what to do; telling
me their policy is to not delete a file. I doubt if they know what "run a
server health check" is. I was kept on hold a long time with them while they
tried to find some help and finally had to hang up because it wasn't a 1-800
#. Can you help me know what to do?

I finally got rid of it! Not sure what happened. Maybe GoDaddy hadn't
processed the "reinstall server extensions" when I first clicked that in my
account. But I went back to the live web, right clicked and said open in
notepad and then reset the numbers to zero. Was able to save it this time and
then able to delete it. What a relief. Then I reinserted a new hit counter on
my local web, published, checked to see if it worked. This time it did. Then
went and reset it. The file says "do not publish" on the live web and also on
the local web. I hope this works. I had a lot of trouble before because all
hits counters had stopped working. Do you think it was the server extensions?
