there was a previous thread on this but it didnt reach any conclusion. I have
just installed Outlook2003 and can read plain text messages but not anything
else. Does anyone know if this is an outlook issue or whether it could have
something to do with norton antivirus?

What do you mean by "can't read"? Is it in another language? Is it blank?
Are there characters you can see but they just don't make sense? What?

The whole body of text is blank. The address and header can be seen, but
there is no other text. It makes no difference if I change from html to rich
or plain text

There is no visible text in the message. Both the header and the sender's
address can be seen, but the rest of the message is blank. It makes no
difference if I change from html to rich or plain text.
I have been right through the microsoft traing stuff and ensured all the
settings are as recommended. I suspevt this may be an anti-virus software
thing, but if would be useful to hear from anyone who has had rhe same problem

Disable any integration of your antivirus program with Outlook. This may
require uninstalling it and reinstalling it without the mail integration.
