Hi all,

recently went to the UK for a holiday and copied all our memory cards to a
CD. I get back home and find that I cannot access all but one folder. At the
time I created 2 CD's - one for a backup. I checked the contents and all was
good.

I have no clue what could have happened. I have tried it on my XP Pro
machine and a friends ME machine. They both hang when trying to access the
folders contents.

I can list the contents but cannot copy or launch a file ( have tried
through dos prompt as well).

Has anyone any idea what could be causing this and what I might try ?

This would be awful if the photos were gone for good.

cheers,

Adam

Hi Rick (and others),

I believe it was something other than Nero, not a 100% sure what program it
was. Could this make a difference ? The first of the four folders is fine.
But after about the 7th file or so in the Second folder it makes the
computer hang.

cheers,

Adam

It could be, WinXP has trouble with some disks written with packet writing
software. Often the only solution is to install the same software onto the
system.
