I have script errors when opening the XP services window. The page is
completely blank and all other services that should be running are okay.

In suspecting that I have some corrupt or missing files and fonts have have
run sfc but problem still exists. Next I am trying to renew all fonts by
copying from my other computer running XP SP3. I copied the complete Fonts
folder to a USB stick and started my problem computer in safe mode with
command prompt. I started the copy process and all approx 410 fonts copied
okay except for :

micros.ttf
tahoma.ttf
tahomabd.ttf
trebucbd.ttf

After each of the above the copy process leaves a message which says:

The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped
section open.

What does this mean and is there a way round it?

regards,

Sorry for a typo. The first font should have been spelled micross.ttf

I think it means the file is in use (or was and the user neglected to timely
close the file).

Fire up process explorer to discover who's using the files.
