Have successfully published to my website (located on
OneWorld Hosting)in the past using FrontPage 2002
(Win98). Now I get an error msg when trying to Publish
Web to the very same site which reads, "Could not find a
web server at '[my website name]' on port 80. Please
check to make sure that the webserver name is valid and
your proxy settings are set correctly."

Contacted OneWorld Hosting to see if they'd changed
anything. The reply..."Your extensions are installed
correctly on the server, and I was able to publish to your
website using FrontPage 2002 at this time. It sounds like
it's a problem with your local setup, you may need to
reinstall your FrontPage." -- I'd rather not since I'd
fall back to the FrontPage 2002 version off the original
CD-ROM without the MS updates.

I've made two changes since last successful Publish that
might affect this, but not sure how to troubleshoot and/or
fix;
[1] Did several MS recommeded updates from the Microsoft
site to get FrontPage up to Service Pack 2.
[2] Connected my PC to broadband router, which in turn
connects to a cable modem for high-speed internet access.

Any comments and/or ideas? Thanks in advance...

You may want to ask your broadband isp and firewall and virus checker if any
of them are blocking / using Port 80 or Por 25 - Why didn't I think of
that...?

Sounds like the exact problem that i am having! I have had
my web page for years then shortly after updating
Microsoft with the patch to stop those vises that were
going around I noticed this problem. I have FP 98 and
Microsoft won't help me and my server says that it is
Microsoft...guess we are both screwed!

If by chance your site is hosted on
and Apache server running UNIX,
the latest server extensions update makes
FP98 incompatible, with UNIX.
obtw, MSFT doesn't write the extensions for UNIX servers,
it's a company named RTR software.
