I own an old Kyocera P-2002 printer, that is connected to the computer
via lpt1.

Under Win98, it works fine, but under win2000 and Linux (Suse8.2,
Suse9.0), the receiving light on the printer is just blinking several
times and that it was.
This effect is observed with two different computers (PII and Athlon).
I tried different settings for the parallel port in the bios, but this
did not help either.
I can not even send a print command without any filter under linux
(root) like
cat Textdatei.txt > /dev/lp0 , just the receiving signal blinks, but
nothing comes out.
Note also that a plain HP inkjet printer works fine when connected to
the same port.

Does anyone has an idea? Thanks for help in advance

Peter
