Hi Everyone

I have an Hp psc 1315 recently i cannot print or scan.I thought it was
something related to the driver so i uninstalled/reinstalled the software
still it didn't solve the problem.I thought maybe it's the universal serial
bus controllers so i uninstalled/reinstalled it again didn't solve the
problem.My usb mouse and digital camera are working ok so it's not a faulty
usb port.I got a new usb cable still the same.I don't know what else to do.I
don't want to reinstall windows so if their is another solution i would very
much appreciate it.I use windows xp professional edition version 2002.Thank
you in advance.

During installation the printer should be unplugged from the USB port untill
you are prompted to connect it (powered).

This is not a Windows XP problem, it is an HP Printer problem.
You need to go to HP tech support.

Hi everyone

Thank you for replying to my message.During installation i unplugged the
USB port and when it prompt me to connect i did and it gave me "The device
setup has failed to complete" then it gave me the option to retry again and
when i did it gave me device is now detected and working.But when i print or
try to scan it hangs so i don't know what else to do.Also i checked the
printer without being connected to the computer it's printing ok so i don't
know what else to do.Any ideas.Thank you

I should think the obvious next step would be to contact HP's Tech
support to determine what's wrong with the printer.
