Cannot print from MS-DOS program in Windows 2000

Please help, I'm having problems trying to print from a
home grown DOS application in W2K. It was working fine one
day and the next day it stop working. The only thing I can
think of is that I updated the workstation with
recommended security patches from Microsoft website and
now I can't even print from the command prompt. It's
acting as if is not spooling DOS print jobs. Is there any
thing I can configure on the windows side to make it work
again.
