Hi all,

i installed XP pro and was succesfully transfering my DV tapes to the
harddisc as "type1" with Ulead Mediastudio pro since the video editing
software cannot handle type2 DV files very well. I know that there are
converter tools, but one thing bugs me: i can easily play DV files type2 in
the Windows Mediaplayer 10 and also in Mediaplayer Classic (MPC), but i
cannot play Type1 files ... i only see the first frame of the video, WMP is
in "play" mode, but there is no motion, no sound. I can scrubb with the
slider to other frames, but i cannot play the whole file.

I then tried to installa diffent DV codec (Mainconcept) and changed the
merrit of the codec to "preferred" with a directshow manager, but no change.
I can still not play the type1 avi files ...
Can anybody give me a hint what´s wrong?
Thanks a lot!
Markus
