BACKGROUND. I tried insert a jpeg file (8+ MB) into a Web page of a Web site
on my PC hard disk. FP returned the error message that the imported file was
wrong type or wrong variation of type, the file was corrupted, or there was
insufficient memory. I deleted the jpeg file and the link to the jpeg file.
FP froze up, but nothing else on my PC was affected. I downsized the jpeg
file to 250KB and changed the file name. The smaller version of the jpeg file
works without any error messages.

PROBLEM: Now I cannot open this Web site or any of the other Web sites in
FP. I get no response at all when I try to open a Web site, say, by clicking
on File > Recent Webs, or File > Open Web.

This particular Web site and its Web pages still exist without any apparent
change or damage done by attempting to insert this large jpeg file. I can go
to individual Web pages in this Web site on my PC hard disk, open each Web
page in a broswer, and follow the hyperlinks on the Web page to navigate
around the Web site.

QUESTION: Given this situation, how can I open my Web sites in FP on my hard
disk?

Any explanations and suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

With FP closed, download and run FP Cleaner:

250 k is still a pretty big image file, btw.
