I get this message in Registry Editor when I try to open
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. Cannot
even view permissions for the key. Cannot load any new programs or updates
and think this is the problem. I'm logged in with administrator privileges.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem, just with another key
(HKCR_HeaderFooter.HeaderFooter.1). It's killing my IE7 reinstallation. (It
already caused an update to IE7 to fail, then backed out to IE6).
