I have created a public calendar in Outlook 2003 (also using Exchange 2003),
which I can access via the List Folders route, however inthe Calendars route,
if I click on Calendar in Public folders I get "Messaging Interface has an
unknown error". Is there any way I can see (and allow others to see) this
public calendar alongside our own calendars?

Sounds like something got changed.

- I would remove the Calendar from my Favorites.
- Delete the Calendar from the Navigation Pane
(right-click and delete)
- Drill down the Public Folders to the Calendar
- Right-Click it and make it a Favorite (again)

And see if this makes it workable again. If so, you
can just send the instructions to the others on How
to Make it a favorite, and then use it in the Navigation
pane.
