Hi Stefan. Windows Xp Home 2002. FP 2003. Online. It also fails to open up
several of the links within the tutuorial to other pages. Everything else on
the tutorial and my system seems fine.

Do you have the Media ActiveX control activated? It has to be activated for the
tutorials to open correctly.
http://office.microsoft.com/templates/axinstall.aspx

If you are running Microsoft Windows® XP with Service Pack 2, it is possible to
disable or enable ActiveX controls by using the Manage Add-ins command on the Tools
menu in Internet Explorer.
The Microsoft Office Template and Media Control may have been disabled. If so, you
cannot automatically download clip art and media or templates on Office Online, or do
practice sessions in online training courses on Office Online. To enable the control:
In Internet Explorer, on the Tools menu, click Manage Add-ons.
Select Microsoft Office Template and Media Control in the list of controls.
If you do not see that control listed, click the arrow on the Show box at the top of
the Manage Add-ons dialog box, and then select Add-ons that have been used by
Internet Explorer. Then select Microsoft Office Template and Media Control in the
list of controls.
Under Settings, click Enable. You may see a message saying that you need to restart
Internet Explorer for the change to take effect. Click OK, and then click OK again.

Thank you. I opened the URL you gave me. However it then just hangs there
with a message "Status - please wait.." No change after 3 minutes.

Also in the Explorer Tools menu there is no " Manage Add-ons".

Could it be because I have only FP 2003 installed, but not MS Office?

Still puzzled. Richard.

You must have IE set under Security to run ActiveX components.

a.. The Internet zone security levels on your computer must be set to Medium, or if
your Internet zone security levels are set to High, the Microsoft Office Online Web
site must be listed on your computer as a trusted site.
Adding a Web site as a trusted site can have security implications.

a.. To add the Microsoft Office Online Web site to your list of trusted sites:

1.. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options, and then click
the Security tab.
2.. Click the Trusted Sites icon, and then click Sites.
3.. Clear the Require server verification (https for all sites in this zone check
box.
4.. In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type http://office.microsoft.com, and
then click Add.
5.. Click OK twice.
