On 7/13/07, some else posted an issue with an error message: "Cannot Open
Pivot Table Source". It was not answered during that time. Here is my issue
& question: For one of my pivot tables that I have created, users have
reported that they are receiving the following error message: "Cannot Open
Pivot Table Source File". Am I doing something wrong as the creator of the
pivot table or is there something I need to do to avoid this error message?

Thanks, enkay

If you provide some details on this workbook, someone may be able to
help. For example:

Is the source file external, and if so, where is it located?
Do all users have permissions in the folder?

Are users opening the file in Excel? What version? Is the workbook shared?
Is there something different about this pivot table, aside from the
error message?

This may be happening because the pivot is trying to refresh on opening and
you don't have the source from which the pivot was created. Either the
initial 'owner' need to save the data with the workbook, or he needs to
'break the link' and you
will just get a 'flat' version of the data

Here are some references that you should check

Thank you so very much. The first link that you provided is the answer I'm
looking for to help solve my problem. This error does not occur all the time
only a couple of times by the same user but it does not affect the other
users. Now I can share with the one user, what is happening and a work
around to this problem.
