I cannot open photo attachments

When I try to open photos, even ones I have opened before, a box pops up that
reads "cannot create file: photo.jpg. Right click the folder you want to
create the file in, and then click Properties on the shortcut menu to check
your permissions for the folder.
I do not know what that means or why this has started happening. Can anyone
help me with this?
