Can someone please help???

I'm having problems opening microsoft office outlook... I need it to backup
the contacts from my PDA mobile phone. I've not used outlook on my laptop
before. I use outlook express to send and recieve emails normally. when I
called my mobile phone company, they told me that I need to have microsoft
office outlook to backup my contacts.

my problem is this, when I try and open microsoft outlook, this is the
message that comes up.

1. "Your Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable"
Then i have to press "Work offline" button

and the next message that comes up is this:

2."Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Your profile is not configured"
I have to press "ok" button and as soon as I do that Microsoft Outlook closes.

so i'm totally unable to get into the program.

can someone please help me so i can get the contacts on my PDA phone to be
backed up.

Thank You..

Rikhi

OK, it sounds like it used to be connected to an exchange server by the
error message.

Then we'll just have to delete the old outlook profile and create a new one.

1. go to Control Panel
2. Cdouble click on mail
3.click on show profiles
4. You said you don't use outlook as your mail client so it will be safe to
remove the profile that there. Click remove.
5. Click create. for the profile name, you can type anything.
6. on the next screen you will be asked to setup a mail account. Click on
add new e-mail account. click next.
7.Choose pop3 mail account
8. now, if you are not going to use this for mail, only for backing up your
PDA, then you can pretty much type anything in the next screen. you can just
put your e-mail address for NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS, LOGON INFO. and for pop3 and
SMTP severs you can type something like mail.mail.com. just so outlook lets
you open the fake account. If you do want to use outlook, then you will need
the proper setting for your ISP.
9. click finish
10. open outlook and go ahead an sync your info.

Hope this helps!
