When I try to open any file a message appears that I cannot open that file. Then it says to open this fileWindows needs to know what program created it. It then aks me if I want to use the web service to find appropriate program or if I want to find it myself. Please HELP Ihave tried everything that I know.

What's the file extension, Tink78?

For shortcuts (LNK files), get the LNK file association from Doug Knox's site:
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm

For EXE files, try EXE association fix. And run a virus scan.
