i get the following message

A referal was returned to the server.

i then have to close it down

how do i get pass this, I have tried using " security > advanced >Effective
Permissions every thing works swell up to there but i cannot apply the
changes it's greyed out. What can i do to change this

First, how did you manage to logon as the Administrator? That account is
disabled and should not be used.

Second, is the name of the executable really "setup................exe"?
What are you trying to install?

Third, the error you are getting does not seem related to security but
rather to some form of redirection that is going on. Is this file a symlink
or something?

I am the administrator no one else, when i bought my pc iwas wrongly advised
to get windows vista buisness ( MORE SECURE i was told ) if it didn't cost so
much i would buy the vista home and install that !!!!!!!!!!!!

Who told you Vista Business was more secure? That's a lie. It just has
different things in it.

I still don't get how you are using the Administrator account. That account
should be disabled. What kind of PC do you have? You should have been
prompted to create a different account when you first started the computer.

And, I still do not understand what program you are trying to run and where
you got it from.

if i understand you correctly, all i need to do is set up a new account and
run my system from there? only using the administrator as required

Right, you should use a different account than the built-in Administrator
account. I don't think that has anything to do with the original problem you
had though; the one where that file you tried to run gave you an error.
