Everything was fine yesterday. My McAfee said needed to restart, so i did.
Today this message occurs. "Cannot open default email folders errors
detected c:/docs and settings/name/local settings........

When I search I cannot find this file, but when I do a search with hidden
folders I do find it but cannot run scanpst.exe on it. I get path invalid.
The error message says for more info about inbox repair see help.

Well OL closes every time when I click OK. Any help appreciated.

First, turn off McAfee integration with Outlook. Better yet, dump McAfee.

Next, try starting Outlook in Safe mode - start->run->outlook.exe /safe.
Does it open?
