Cannot open assigned tasks.

I cannot do anything with an assigned task, (open, accept, reply etc.), that
is sent to or from me. I can forward the task and use it that way. I only
need to assign tasks between 3 PC's and we do not have Exchange. I use Office
2007. Other PC's have 2003 or 2007.
Is there a way to fix this problem?
