Hi
Hope someone can help me, as there is a window near by to fly my computer
through!!!

My OS is Windows 98. I have kept it updated.

My problem is everytime I try to access my IE Browser I get "The page
cannot be displayed" And at the bottom of the page "Cannot find server or
DNS error" This happens with every page, my home page included.

I have checked all of my settings, and they seem to be ok.

I have repeatedly run my Norton's, Adaware, Search and Destroy, and
SpySubtract. All to no avail!

I have been to the Microsoft site for help, and tried to download fixes, but
of course, that does not work either, as they try to connect me through IE.

I figured I would try to uninstall IE and download it again. But when I try
to delete it I get "Invalid INF file".

I am no wizz, but not a newbie either, I have tried everything that I can
think of for about a month now to fix this problem.

If anyone can offer me some insight, I surely would appreciate it.

AYN

I'm not a whiz either, but I don't think you can uninstall Internet
Explorer.

Assuming you can get online, (maybe another computer?) - the following links
may help. If not, reply to my e-mail and I will send these to you.

Repair/Reset Winsock settings
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/winsock.htm

You may need a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:

http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html

Also, get a copy of WINSOCKXPFIX available at:
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html

Thank for your reply.

Will "Repair/Reset Winsock setings" work with Windows 98? Or just XP?

In my experience, symptoms like this are usually caused by a problem at
the ISP. Its domain name server may be down or corrupted or
malfunctioning, or you may have something set up incorrectly on your end.

To test this, attempt to conncet to http://207.46.156.252 . If that
works but http://www.microsoft.com does not, you have a DNS lookup
problem. In that case, contact your ISP for help.
