Hello,

I have an Access database with the backend reside in a network drive and the
frontend trying to put on user desktop. It worked fine when someone logged
into their login, but we also have a group account that everyone in the shop
used. But the database cannot be copy and paste to the group account desktop.

I also put a FE copy on the same network drive and able to create a
shortcut, but when trying the open, it said it couldn't find the database
name.

I am able to open other applications such as Excel or Word, which lead me to
believe there must be some security within Access with Group account that
prevent access from openning (read & write). Is this true?

Thanks for any help.

By 'Group account', I assume you are referring to a common Windows login
account. Sounds as though that Windows username doesn't have the
necessary permissions on the folder where the FE is located. They need
full permissions on the folder.
